Welcome to the Land-gut-Hotel Waldgasthof Margarethenmühle!
The Margarethe mill was already documented in 1553 as "Krottenmühle" (toads mill). The Saxon vernacular supposedly converted the name into "Gretenmühle" and then formed it to "Margarethenmühle". The water intake was carried from the Kaiserbach through the mill ponds and mill channel to the water wheel.
The service of drinks was just a sideline besides the mill operation. At the beginning only small and simple snacks have been sold. The bar parlor has always been there. In the today´s "Old Mill" and the mill gear below the grinder was located as well as the partially still preserved gear.
We are looking forward to meeting you!
